Lady Kat at Queen of Heart
Blues artists Lady Kat and
her “True Blue” Band will per
form on Friday, Sept. 24 from 8
p.m. to 12 a.m.at the Queen of
Hearts Tavern on Southeast 72nd
and Harold.
Lady Kat’s low, rich and full-
bodied voice carries the likes of
Etta Jam es, with a little of
Wy nonna’s twang, and the depth
of Della Reese. Born and raised
in the Northwest, she was sur
rounded by the sounds of Blues Lady Kat
and Country Music.

Band has performed with the
Northwest Women Rhythm n ’
Blues, made up of several local
and national artists in and around
the Northwest. For the past six
years, Lady Kat has performed
at the W aterfront Blues Festival
and most recently, shared the
stage with Fiona Boyd, Duffy
Bishop, Lady A, and Ellen White.

Ride your Bike to the Teddy Bear Parade in
dow ntow n G resham on Saturday, Sept. 24,
and stay to take part in the annual T ransporta
tion Fair and Bike Radio from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. at the G resham
C enter for the Arts Plaza, Second Street and
Hood A venue in historic dow ntow n with all-
day bicycle parking available at 9 a.m. at the
Arts Plaza.
The event is free and includes musical en
tertainm ent, carnival gam es, bike gam es and
safety, prizes, bike helm ets for $5, and food
and beverages available for purchase.
Participants can also learn about transpor
tation options like how to ride public transit and
how to find a carpool partner with the region's
new "R ideshare" w ebsite, safety tips, and how
to provide feedback on G resham 's T ranspor
tation System Plan.
M ulti-use helm ets in toddler through adult
sizes will be sold for $5, with lim ited stock
available.
