Pirate-Themed Treasure Hunt
Big and little pirates alike are welcome to join the
Portland W ater Bureau and the Colum bia Slough
W atershed Council for a free fam ily festival all
about groundwater!
Aquifer Adventure is held Saturday, Sept. 17 from
noon until 4 p.m. at the Columbia Slough Trailhead on
Northeast 166th Avenue and Airport Way.
Play fun games and go on a canoe ride in search
of hidden treasure - not gold, but groundw ater, a
precious resource that flows beneath your feet!

Carter IV" CD sold 964,000 in its
debut week for the second-best
first-w eek sales of the year. The
figures were released Sept. 6 by
Nielsen SoundScan.
Only Lady Gaga sold more this
year. Her "Born This Way" CD hit
No. 1, with 1.1 m illion sold in part
to a o n e -d a y o f f e r fro m
Amazon.com to buy the album for
99 cents.
Lil W ayne just barely missed
his own sales record. "Tha C arter
III" sold ju st over 1 m illion when
it was released in 2008.
Lil W ayne made the new album
available for digital download im
m ediately after an appearance on
the MTV Video M usic Awards
and released a physical CD two
days later.
