International Air Show - In
Hillsboro, the skies will come to
life Friday, Aug. 19 through Sunday,
Aug. 21 for the 24th annual Oregon Inter­
national Air Show. The gates open Friday night at 6 p.m.
and the sky show starts at 7 p.m., followed by one huge

Movie Insanity - Curious Comedy Theater, 5225 N.E.
Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., presents the Neutrino
Project, an improvised movie in which three groups are
each given a camera, cast and runner, and the crew
returns with insane footage for the audience to watch.
Admission is $ 12 advance or $ 15 at the door. The movies
will be created Friday and Saturday nights during Au­
gust. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the shows start at 8 p.m.

Movies in the Park - All summer long, Portland’s
neighborhood parks will host free films from recent hits
to classics. Films begin at dark (8 p.m. - 8:45 p.m.) with pre­
movie entertainment starting at 6:30 p.m. Rainouts will be

Summer Reading - Multnomah County Library gives
kids an incentive to read over the summer months in their
99th annual Summer Reading program. Studies show
that over the summer, students lose about two months
of reading comprehension skills. Kids aged birth to high
school students entering grade 12 are welcome to sign
up at any school library.

Oregon’s motorsport history. Pedal to the Metal
brings iconic race cars, motorcycles and engines to
