Worship in Pink Fights Breast Cancer
Singers join
Survivors Choir
Breast cancer survivors are in
vited to join Portland's first-of-its-
kind Survivors Choir.
Directed by Julianne R. Johnson,
a local actress, director, performer
and recording artist, the choir will
perform at this year’s Komen Race
for the Cure on Sept. 18 and during
a Worship in Pink community cel
ebration on Oct. 30.
Worship in Pink was developed
by Susan G. Komen for the Cure to
partner with interfaith communities
across America to spread the life
saving message of breast cancer
screening and early detection, and
to honor survivors from individual
communities.
The first rehearsal for the choir Clergy and other representatives from local churches gather for a Worship in Pink Clergy Breakfast last June as part of a breast cancer
will be held on Monday, Aug. 15 at awareness program presented by Legacy Health, the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, and Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon.
