PDX Jazz at The Mission Theater
series continues with the Devin Phillips
Quartet on Thursday, July 28 at 8 p.m.
Phillips will celebrate the music of
John Coltrane in a program titled "Im­
pressions of Coltrane."
The Portland based classic quartet
with pianist Ramsey Embick, bassist
Eric Gruber and drummer Alan Jones
will play Trane's signature Love Su­
preme suite as well as the time-honored
Coltrane favorites Chasin the Trane,
Naima, Giant Steps, The Night has a
Thousand Eyes, My Favorite Things
and Impressions.
The PDX Jazz at the Mission The­
ater series will resume this fal 1 with two
internationally acclaimed trumpet stars
-Sept. 29, ECM recording artist Tomasz
