A rt & Culture Night
Colored Pencils invites Portlanders to
celebrate the rich traditions of all cultures
living here during an evening celebrating
culinary arts and an extraordinary mix of
fine and performing artists.
The Friday, July 29 event will be held at
Portland Center Stage, 128 N.W. 11th Ave.,
in the Ellen Bye Studio Theatre from 5:30
p.m. to 9 p.m.
Open mic performers will include
Sivheng and Kilong Ung, Cambodian
poems; Nhi Vu and Phan Ngoc, Vietnam­
ese dancers; Nat Hulskamp with Seffarine,
Arabic music; Gauri Rajbaida, Nepali
acoustic guitar; Salyna Magar and Sudin
Maharjan, Nepali dance; Randa BenAziz,
contem porary M oroccan solo; Polo
Catalani's talking story; Agnieszka Laska
Polish Group Dancers, a modem multime­
dia dance company; Gary Marschke, sing­
ing a Frank Sinatra song; and Ashia
Grzesik, Polish musician.

Alternative Rock Band
Alternative rock band Tally Hall brings their national
touring show to Mississippi Studios on Saturday
July 30 at 9 p. m. Known for their upbeat melo­
dies, whimsical lyrics and nearly cult following, Tally
Hall ju s t released their sophomore album, Good &
Evil which followed up on th e ir2005 debut album
M arvin’s Marvelous Mechanical Museum. The
group hails from Michigan. Mississippi Studios is
located at 3939 N. Mississippi Ave.
