Zoo Hosts Powerhouse Weekend
Los Lobos will take the Oregon Zoo stage with Los Lonely Boys Sunday, July 24 as part of the
Oregon Zoo summer concert series.
Summer concerts with Indigo Girls and Los Lobos
The Oregon Zoo has a treat in
store for music lovers: Two must-
see acts in one weekend. Concert-
goers can get their folk fix when the
Indigo Girls play the zoo Friday,
July 22, and then take in some East
L.A. rock ‘n ’ roll when Los Lobos
perform on Sunday, July 24.
Both concerts are part of the Or
egon Zoo Summer Concerts, pre
sented by R egence B lueC ross
BlueShield of Oregon with support
from U.S. Bank.
While the Indigo Girls came into
prominence as part of the late-’80s
singer-songwriter revival, they had
staying power where other artists
from the same era quickly faded.
Their two-women-with-guitars for
mula bring two distinct personali
ties and songwriting styles.
Opening for the Indigo Girls is
Mount Moriah, a duo offering a far-
reaching and nontraditional take on
classic folk themes.
Los Lobos and Los Lonely Boys
will take it up a notch with their East
L.A. rock. This is a band that con
tinually redefines itself and expands
its scope with each passing year,
while never losing sight of its roots.

from Texas known for luscious vo
cal harmonies, irresistible grooves,
and potent songs with unshakeable
pop appeal. The band was first loved
for their global hit “Heaven,” which
went to the top of the Billboard
charts and earned a Grammy award.
Tickets may be purchased in per
son at the zoo daily. Tickets can also
be purchased (with service charge)
at all Ticketmaster outlets.
