Purveyors of hard-grooving dance music Plena Libre will get hips
swaying and feet tapping at the Oregon Zoo on Wednesday, July
13 as part of the Oregon Zoo summer concert series. The Puerto
Rican group has honed their explorations of Puerto Rico's African
heritage and Caribbean connections during 15 years o f perform­
ing on more than a dozen albums.
Two Shows, Four Artists

Carole Turner’s stone sculptures
and Rio W renn’s investigation of
the rust process are on display at
the Main Gallery, while woodcarv­
ings by Greg Carrigan and Tabor
Porter are showing in the featured
area.
Turner sculpts with “A riosa”
stone, a medium that is a departure
for her and on a much smaller scale,
while her sculptural mediums range
from marble to bronze. Wrenn in­
vestigates the rust process on silk
while involving her latest rusted
passion - old car parts. She also
experiments with smaller silk and
encaustic on wood panels.
Longtime partners Carrigan and
Porter explore the past, present and
future in their show “Symbols from
the Collective Unconscious” with
