Retired Officer Builds Interest in Jazz Club

A retired career m ilitary officer
from P ortland is m aking plans to
bring a grow ing, classy and a m a­
ture crow d to the P ortland night life.
“ M y vision for returning hom e is
to bring som ething new , fun and
exciting to P ortland by opening a
Jazz old school club restaurant fea­
turing live m usic,” said Russell Dizer,
a form er Portland resident w ho is
returning hom e after 28 years in the
military.
D izer describes his future club as
one that has an “A m erican B and
stand/Soul Train feel w here I in ter­
view m usical guests w hen they com e
and perform and hopefully later on
broadcast it on cab le.”
H e w ill be arriving hom e to P o rt­
land on S aturday July 9, and then
host a party to kick o ff his vision on
