Space Develops Passions
Brooklyn Art Space will host
the artwork of adult artists with
disabilities for one night only at
their premier in-house art show
on Friday, July 1 from 6 p.m. to
9 p.m. The collection of work,
representing over two years of
fine art, will be on display and
available for purchase.
The show marks the first big
step in helping local people with
disabilities develop their talents
and passions into a viable ca­
reer.

Beaverton s Tatsu Matsuir is a traditional Japanese summer festival.
Natsu Matsuri, a traditional Japa­
nese summer festival centered on
Japanese culture and Japanese
games, foods, music and dance
takes place Saturday, July 2 at
Uwajimaya Beaverton Plaza, 10500
S.W. Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy.
What makes this festival unique
is that it is organized by community
organizations and non-profits and
has no commercial vendors. Fur­
ther, this year proceeds raised dur­
ing the festival will be used to help
alleviate the suffering of those in
Japan affected by Great East Japan
Earthquake and Tsunami of 2011.
The focus will be on Japanese
music and dance and fun at this
family-friendly event, which will fea­
ture lots of live Japanese music and
odori dancing, many traditional
children’s games, shaved ice, Japa­
nese and Asian festival foods, a
yukata contest, and much, much
more.
The festival will be held from
10:30a.m. to5 p.m. Admission is free
and there is plenty of free parking.
