em ony to rededicate Dr. D eN orval
U nthank Park at 510 N. Shaver St. on
Friday, June 17 from 5 p.m .to 8 p.m.
T his is a chance to both honor
the late Dr. U nthank and to educate
to d a y ’s youth about the co n trib u ­
tions he m ade to the A frican-A m eri­
can com m unity and breaking dow n
racial barriers in Portland.
Dr. T. A llen B ethel, senior pastor
o f M aranatha C hurch and co -p re si­
dent o f the A lbina M inisterial A lli­
ance, w ill give the invocation. K ids
w ill enjoy hands-on arts activities
and m uch m ore.

quartered in the park, to provide
positive options for neighborhood
children to be active this sum m er.
B eginning on W ednesday, June
22, Portland Parks and R ecreation
will provide su m m eractiv ities from
3 p.m. to 7 p.m . for youth w ithin the
com m unity that will include gam es,
arts and crafts activities, basketball
as well as an evening free meal.
The SEI organization is dedicated
to guiding under-served youth to
realize their full potential through
sports, arts, and academ ic program s.
