A second Juneteenth event will take place on the comer of MLK and Alberta on both Saturday, June 18, and Sunday, June 19. Woody Broadnax, the organizer of the new event, said the celebra tion will include a call to action re garding the livability of the commu nity; how we educate; and how we bring about behaviors that lead to a successful future for everybody. The significance in the celebra tion of Juneteenth, he said, must include actions, which allow young people of the community to leave more successful in what they do. “It can’t just be a booty shakin’ party,” he explained. “We need to lift them up. It’s for the people.” THE GRAND OPENING OF THE NEW MIRACLES BUILDING (503) 284-7838 Truly making a difference in the lives of Auto Accident victims and Injured Workers for nearly 20 years.
