Vocalist Sachal Vasandani is set
to make his Portland debut during
PDX Jazz night at the Tony Starlight
Supper Club-Lounge on Saturday,
June 18 at 8 p.m.
The performance will feature his
New York-based working ensemble,
consisting of pianist Jeb Patton,
bassist David Wong and drummer
Kendrick Scott.
With two albums on Mack Av­
enue Records, Vasandani - a 2010
DownBeat "Rising Star" poll win­
ner - established himself as one of
the most promising voices in mod­
em jazz, with a distinctive blend of
jazz and pop.
