Oakland's The Afrofunk Experience will bring a mix o f musical interpretations influenced by the

invited to celebrate the annual
Juneteenth parade and freedom fes­
tival on Saturday, June 18. The day-
long event commemorates the his-
toric day that slaves in Texas learned
of their freedom in 1865, and will
include a number of musical artists,

formances are Thursday, Friday,
