In “Art from Nature,” artists Lenny Wilson, Maria T. Jacobs, Anne Scott and Emilie Lapham use innovation and meticulous skill to create everyday objects from natu ral plant materials. Under an artist’s hand, glamorous high heels take shape from a pile of acorns and leaves. Seeds and petals become a tiara. The exhibit is located on Con course A through Sept. 15. Artists Tiffany Ludwig and Renee Piechocki created “Trappings: Por traits” after interviewing more than 600 women in 15 states, asking them to respond to the question, “What do you wear that makes you feel powerful?” The exhibit, located at the e n tran ce to C o n co u rse E through Sept. 30, allows participants and viewers to investigate their own relationship to power and assump tions based on appearance and im age. “Our art program is designed to provide a portal into the dynamic cultural life of our region,” said Greta Blalock, Port of Portland’s PDX art and entertainm ent coordinator. “Through ongoing relationships Fashions that make women feel powerful is the theme behind an art exhibit by Tiffany Ludwig and Renee Piechocki at the entrance to Concourse E at the Portland International Airport. with regional artists, arts organiza tions, museums and educational institutions, PDX is providing a showcase for Northwest expres sion.”
