Gospel Night of Healing
Over a month has passed since
14-year-old Yashanee Vaughn was
reported missing and believed mur­
dered on March 19; and efforts con­
tinue throughout the community to
find the girl’s body and understand
the truth behind her disappearance.
In honor of her life, Vaughn’s
family and friends will hold a Gospel
celebration as a way to bring the
community together for a night of
healing and performance.
Rev. J. W. Friday will be the host
of the event, which will be held at the
Maranatha Church of God in North­
east Portland on Friday, May 6 and

Fashion Show Helps Homeless
People throughout the com m unity are com ing together for
fashion, food and music to raise funds for a transitional housing
program for the homeless.
The festivities, with pianist Danny Osborne and saxophonist
Charles Smith, will be held at C oncordia University, Hagen C am ­
pus Center, at 2811 N.E. Holman St., beginning at 6 p.m. on
Saturday, May 7. Tickets are $15.
Sponsored by Grace Covenant Fellow ship Church, the pro­
ceeds will support the M inistry House, a program that helps
hom eless people rebuild their lives.
