The Ford Fiesta is a little car with a quest to
conquest budget-minded buyers with a product
that has global appeal and fuel economy. The
Fiesta is available in both sedan and hatchback
body styles, howeverthe hatchback provides
greater cargo capacity.
The Fiesta comes with a 1,6-liter engine that
produces 120 horsepower and 112 foot-pounds
of torque. As with most small engines, the block
in the Fiesta needs to rev high to make power. It
reaches peak torque at 5000 rpm: 2000 rpm below
redline. A five-speed manual transmission is
sta n d ard and a six -sp e e d a u to m a tic is
optional.The manual transmission is precise and
easy to shift. Standard safety features include
stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes,
front-seat side airbags and side curtain airbags.
Also included is a class-exclusive driver knee
airbag. It steering is the new benchmark, it
provides immediate and precise response. It
suspension has excellent handling and ride could
use some improvement.
The standard Fiesta comes with 15-inch steel
wheels, a capless fuel filler, power mirrors, a tilt-
and-telescoping steering wheel, a four-speaker
AM/FM stereo (with an auxiliary input jack and
USB port) and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. The

player. The SEL sedan adds LED park­
ing lights, a rear spoiler, 16-inch "pre­
mium painted" wheels, a premium sound
system (with satellite radio and six speak­
ers), ambient lighting, an auto-dimming
rearview mirror and the Sync multimedia
voice-command system which now also
offers tum-by-tum navigation and the
SES adds rear wipers.

Pizza Hut Opens on MLK
Just in time for the NCAA m en’s
and wom en’s basketball tourna­
ments, Pizza Hut has opened a
carryout and delivery location on
the com er of Northeast Martin
Luther King Jr. Boulevard and
Alberta Street.

Portland’s first Wingstreet, a spe­
cialty restaurant offering Buffalo
chicken wings.
“We love this location and think
this is a great place to introduce
Wingstreet to Portland,” said Lisa
Oliverio, Pizza Hut’s Portland-area
manager. “And we love basketball
and the excitement it creates in the
community.”
The new restaurant employs 25
people, occupying half of the build­
ing that once housed an Adidas
Outlet Store. The other half of the
building remains unoccupied. There
are 26 Pizza Huts located in the Port­
land area.
Pizza Hut and Wingstreet are
owned by Yum! Brands, a Louis­
ville, Ky., corporation that also in­
cludes Kentucky Fried Chicken,
Taco Bell and A&W.
