A fter m oving, feeding, clo th
ing, and housing 4 0 fam ilies,
P astor M ary realized that som e
o f the survivors needed m edica
tions and m edical care, but within
the N orth Portland area, there
were few if any free clinics that
existed, especially during evening
hours. Talking with neighbors and
church m em bers she found that
m any local com m unity residents,
even those w ho w orked full time,
also had no health coverage.
