Law School Hosts Activist
Lewis & Clark Law School is honored
to host W illiam T. Coleman, one of the
nation's most prominent civil rights activ
ists, as its 2011 Martin Luther King Jr.
speaker.
Among his many accomplishments,
Coleman was a key legal strategist for the
plaintiffs in Brown v. Board of Education
I l< A
and the second African American to serve
in the Cabinet.
An adviser to six U.S. Presidents,
Coleman recently published an autobiog
raphy titled, “Counsel for the Situation:
Shaping the Law to Realize America's
Promise.”
