T he 84-year-old perform er did not
require ho sp italizatio n and B erry ’s
friend, Joe E dw ards, said he ap ­
peared to have fully recovered.
"I think it w as ju s t exhaustion,"
E dw ards said, noting that Berry
played tw o show s in N ew Y ork on
N ew Y ear's Eve, then flew to C h i­
cago w here he played at the C o n ­
gress T h eater on S aturday night.
" I th in k by the tim e the co n cert in
C h icag o got near the end he ju st got
tired," he said.

that the singer "feels tired but g o o d ."
