Gun Case Sends Man to Prison
Jaim e Lee M ichael Sims, 30, an ex­
felon and gang m em ber from P o rt­
land, w as sen ten ced M o n d ay to
serve 70 m onths in federal prison for
being a felon in possession o f a
firearm.
Sim s w as charged w ith selling a
.22 caliber handgun, 18 rounds o f
am m unition and cocaine to a g o v ­
ernm ent inform ant. A uthorities said
he previously h ad con v ictio n s for
attem pted assault and unlaw ful use
o f a w eapon for shooting up a house
in 2001 occu p ied by a rival gang
m em ber, his w ife and five children.
