Monsters of Accordion
With squeezeboxes strapped to
their chests, the Monsters of Ac­
cordion are launching an assault on
West Coast cities, including Port­
land.
The Monsters will invade the
Kennedy School Theater on Tues­
day, Dec. 16 with an evening of
squeezebox-fueled drinking songs,
Celt-punk jigs, rock anthems and
gypsy music.

goddess Renée de la Prade puts
punk rock power into Celtic and
zydeco melodies as she pumps her
button box and pounds the floor­
boards. Just back from Serbia, The
Petrojvic Blasting Company will
bring a fresh take on Balkan music;
and the legendary Com Mo, known
for his work with Ben Folds, They
Might Be Giants and The Bindlestiff
Family Circus, will perform.
The night concludes with accor­
dion howler Jason Webley, who
organizes the annual tour and is
known throughout the world for his
g ig a n tic v o ice, his fren z ied
squeezebox playing and his ability
to make any room of strangers throw
their arms around each other and
sing with abandon.
The show is open to all ages and
begins at 7 pm sharp. Tickets are $ 10
tickets.
