Green Crafters Host Sale
Find the perfect holiday gift made
by local, green artists and crafters at
Trillium Artisans, a nonprofit busi­
ness that supports local artisans who
keep landfills free by working with
recycled and reclaimed materials.
On Saturday, Nov. 13from 10a.m. to
3 p.m., Trillium will host their annual
Holiday Sale and Open House at 9119
S.E. Foster Rd.
Many of the artisans will attend the
event, so shoppers will have the op­
portunity to talk about the back story
of their holiday gifts with the makers
— including how the artisans incor­
porate recycled materials into their
creations. Customers also will get to
enjoy wine and snacks, and a 20 per­
cent discount off of their entire pur­
chase.
Trillium ’s 50 artisans make a wide
range of products for everyone on a
shopper’s list including jewelry made
from cast-off metal parts, vinyl records
and bike tires; vintage-style aprons;
handbags; wallets made from lawn-

Exploring Race, Gender -- This fall, the Hoffman
Gallery of Contemporary Art at Lewis & Clark College
presents an exhibit investigating the work of Alison
Saar, the artist who recently created a campus sculp­
ture of York, the slave in the Lewis & Clark expedition.
Saar is known for her emotionally candid exploration of
African culture. The gallery is open Tuesday, through
Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
