Among her many gifts to the community, Pastor Smith is a founder
of the North by Northeast Community Health Center. The Center
serves uninsured neighborhood adults who are otherwise unable to
afford life-saving health care. There is no stopping Hurricane Mary
and we’re proud to be in her path! She is our inspiration and the
heart and soul of the North by Northeast Community Health Center.
Thank you!

A “Get Your Vote On” signup
campaign is bringing together youth
from all over Portland to participate
in civic engagement that will boost
participation in the NovemberGen-
eral Election.
Young people around the coun
try voted in unprecedented num
bers to support candidates who in
spired change in the political pro
cess in the last 2(M)8 General Elec-
tion. Several community organiza
tions are working to repeat the trend
by encouraging potential young
voters to register and vote in the
upcoming Nov. 2 election.
Saturday, a voter drive to register
100 new voters age 18 to 25, took
place on the Cascade Campus of
Portland Community College in
north Portland, with help from the
Urban League o f Portland, and
Northeast Coalition of Neighbor
hoods.
Another goal of the event was to
inform young people about the bal
lot initiatives, and candidates run
ning fall elections, and encourage
them to vote. Resources from the
Secretary of State office, the Help
America Vote Act, and the Bus
Project helped make the event a
success.
