C h ief Considers O fficer’s Fate
Portland Police Chief Mike Reese is consid­
ering disciplinary action, which could include
the firing of a police officer who shot an African
American man last January who was described
as suicidal over the death of his brother earlier
in the day.
Aaron Campbell, 25, was shot in the back
after an hour-long back and forth between
Campbell and police at the Sandy Terrace
apartments in northeast Portland.
Citing unnamed sources, the Willamette
Week, reported Tuesday that the police
bureau’s Use of Force Review Board has
recommend that Reese fire the officer, Ronald
Frashour.

reaching for a weapon

with a crime when the case
was reviewed by a grand

on administrative leave last
