Disability
Pride Art
Festival
The fourth Disability Pride
Art and Culture festival, fea
turing writing workshops and
performances by dancers from
across the metro area, will be
held Thursday, April 22 through
Saturday, A pril 24 at the
new Z oom topia, 810 S.E.
Belmont St.
Kathy Coleman was among
three artists who created the
festival after they couldn’t find
enough places to perform .
Physical access was one bar
rier. Another was the idea that
people with disabilities could
be artists outside of therapy or
socii programs - getting to
gether in a setting that’s truly
about art and c u ltiv a tin g
artists.
The festival's performers will
also include a group of teens and
young adults with disabilities.
Participants in the writing work
shops will be able to perform
their work.
For more information, contact
Coleman at 503-358-9085, or
contact for information via email
