Hollywood Theatre Benefit
Mississippi Studios, 3939 N. M is­
sissippi Ave., is opening its doors
on Sunday, April 18, from 9 p .m .-12
a.m. to show case local talent in sup­
port o f Film Action Oregon, the non­
profit best known for owning and
operating the Hollywood Theatre in
northeast Portland.
Artists will perform songs from
celebrated films including "Laby­
rinth," "Halloween," "The Royal Tenenbaums,"

"Once Upon a Time in the West," and
more, while actors reinterpret famous
scenes from the films on stage.
Local film director and musician
Jon Garcia is coordinating the “Rock
for Light” benefit to help preserve the
Hollywood Theater as a community
resource and to educate young film­
makers through Project Youth Doc.
A dm ission is $ 10 in advance and
the $10 the day o f the show.
