Parade magazine announced its
54th annual All-America High
School Boys Basketball Team last
week with Terrence Jones, a 6-
foot 9-inch point/wing forward
from Jefferson High School, named
to the first team.
A week earlier, Franklin High
School’s Shoni Schimmel was
named to the first team of the Pa­
rade All-America Girls Basketball
Team, giving recognition to an-
other great talent from Portland.
Many members of the past Pa-
rade teams have gone on to star in
college and the pros, with 183 Pa-
rade All-Americans currently play-
ingintheN B A . Among them are
LeBron James of the Cleveland
Cavaliers, Kobe Bryant of the Los
Angeles Lakers, Dwight Howard
