Terry Pilcher, a survivor o f AML Leukemia, and Linda K. Scott, a survivor o f non-H odgkih’s lym ­ phoma, are both bone m arrow recipients and were there to show their support and volunteer their time. A bone m arrow donation is a procedure where m arrow is surgically rem oved and given to a recipi­ ent. All donors are given general or regional anes­ thesia. The procedure lasts betw een 45 and 90 minutes. A robber struck a 49 year-old woman from behind, causing injuries to her head and shoulders, at a V ancouver Bank o f America ATM on Sunday. The suspect was described as a white male in his early 20s, between 5 foot 3 inches to 5 foot 5 inches tall, with a slim build, wearing a dark col­ ored jacket and jeans with a multi­ colored cap. The victim said she was making a deposit and the man got away with only about 15 cents from her wallet. The Vancouver Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect and is en­ couraging anyone to call 911 or the Vancouver Police Department Tip Line at 360-487-7399. Cesar E. Chavez Honored Cesar E. Chavez will be honored this Friday with the unveiling o f the first street signs that will display his name. The city o f Portland is changing the name o f 39th Avenue to Cesar E. Chavez Boulevard to remember his work and legacy o f environmental justice, de­ cent wages and human rights. The celebration will take place on Friday, Jan. 29 at 12:45 pm at the Central Christian Church located on 1844 S.E. 39th Ave. near Hawthorne.
