Portland's King Celebration Turns 25
Monday tribute widely supported
On Monday, Jan. 18, Portland
area residents are invited to join
hands to celebrate the life and
work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr.
The World Arts Foundation,
Inc. is proud to produce its 25th
consecutive “ Keep Alive the
D ream " tribute to this great
American. The program, widely
supported for its powerful dis­
play of diverse talent, takes place
at Highland Christian Center,
76(X) N.E. Glisan St, beginning
at 11 a.m. and ending at 6:30
p.m.
As an added feature, organiz­
ers are proud to feature the
Dreamers Village, a full range
cultural enrichment vendor dis­
play, showcasing a variety of
local community businesses and
organizations.
This program continues to be
recognized locally and nationally
as one of the finest community-
based celebrations in the U.S.,
humbly attempting to give voice
to common citizens and acknowl­
edge the struggle for civil rights
and human dignity.

simulcast live on KBOO Radio
(90.7 FM); and tape delayed on
Portland Community Media (1
p.m. to 9 p.m. on Channel 11),
and Portland Public Schools
Television Services (Channel
.28).

tion are asked to bring a $5
donation or four cans of non-
perishable food to be given to
local food banks.
