at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.
Choreographer, director, dancer, painter and
designer, Shen Wei received worldwide expo­
sure with his dazzling contribution to the 2008
Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremonies.
Bom in Hunan. China and now based in New
York City, Shen Wei creates hauntingly beauti­
ful imagery as seen in his Rite of Spring that
White Bird presented in 2005.
In the current production, Shen Wei's 13-
member company will perform his stunning
RE:I, based on Shen Wei's impressions of Ti­
bet during his travels there - as well as his new
RE: Il I, integrating images of the Old Silk Road
with the "new" hyper-modem China that Shen
Wei observed while there for the Olympics.
