On a Thursday night a woman
belts out a song about “making
lo v e ” on the karaoke m achine
while the audience sips their stiff
mixed drinks and bottles of Coors
Light.
Campbell is still putting the fi­
nal touches on the bar. She wants
to get beer on tap, and plans to
have live music regularly. So far
she has booked Ocean 503, Cool
Breeze Band, the Fenix Project,
and Norman Sylvester.
She’s also is putting together a
m enu o f “hot foods” including
greens, mac and cheese, hot wing
dinners, chicken strip baskets, and
more.
So far Campbell said that the re­
ception to the bar has been good.
The neighbors are pleased and cus­
tomers like the same hospitality they
became accustomed to at the origi­
nal Jewelia’s.
But Campbell has even greater
ambitions: she wants it to be big.
How big?
“Big is packed,” she said.
