The tour showcases creative
solutions in all price ranges and

from Victorian-era Queen Anne
to mid-century. You'll learn up
close and in person how the
kitchen has evolved over time
from a utilitarian w orkspace to
the center o f family living.
Homeowners will be on hand
to sh a re th e ir e x p e rie n c e s.

an original gem, a do-it-yourself
restoration, or a renovation com ­
pleted under the guidance o f a
local contractor, the Kitchen Re­
vival Tour promises to be both
educational and entertaining.

As a special treat, the Pittock
M ansion’s kitchen will be part
o f the tour. N ot only will tour
goers get to see the fantastic
kitchen in the main residence,
but the understated 1920s gate
house as well. If you have never
been to the Pittock M ansion or
gotten behind the scene into
the kitchen, this is a great o p ­
p o r tu n ity to see o n e o f
Portland’s m ost im portant his­
toric attractions.
The 11th annual event is S at­
urday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 4
p.m. starting from the H eritage
C enter at 701 S.E. G rand Ave.
Cost is $20 for members and $25

Art, Talent at Cultural Celebration
Since debuting in February, Colored Pencils
Arts and Culture N ight has draw n hundreds of
Portlanders eager to share in the rich textures of
cultures represented in our neighborhoods.
About one in five Portland resident is foreign-
bom , with growing populations o f families from
Latin America, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe.
Colored Pencils Arts and Culture Night brings
together visual artists and perform ers from a
wide variety of racial, ethnic and tribal back­
grounds.
The event, held every last Friday o f the m onth
at the Intercultural O rganizing office, 700 n.
Killingsworth St., is organized by Portland artist
Nim Xuto and writer Ronault L.S. Catalani (Polo)
in partnership with staff and volunteers from the
Center for Intercultural Organizing, City o f Port­
land O ffice of Human Relations, Colors o f Influ­
ence online magazine and the Latino Network.
