Services for Myrtle Nickerson
were held Oct. 3 at Rose City
Cemetery Chapel.
She was born June 6, 1923 in
Marshall, Texas.
She attended Bishop College
in Marshall and Portland State
University. She was a member of
the N eighborhood C hurch of
God in Portland. She was em­
ployed as an operator for Pacific
Northwest Bell and as a retail
manager for the Salvation Army.
She was a member of the Urban

enlisted into the United States Air
Force where he served until be­
ing honorably discharged.
In 1952, he met Olga Anne
Plummer and they were married
in 1957. Five children were born
to this union.
He went on to attend the Uni­
versity of Portland where he re­
ceived a Bachelor of Arts degree.
He earned a Masters degree at
Portland State University and a
Law degree from Blaekstone
School of Law in Chicago.
He held a variety of profes­
sional positions, including direc­
