stitute of M edicine in W ashing
ton em phasized the importance
of specialized care for children's
medical em ergencies in desig
nated pediatric em ergency de
partments.
H ighly sk illed c h ild re n 's
em ergency teams have exper
tise in age specific care and
proper diagnosis o f newborns,
infants, toddlers, school aged
kids and teens. At Emanuel, the
children’s em ergency team rec
ognizes the need for separate
children’s em ergency services
and prides itself on a family-
centered care approach.
The team also strives to en
sure that each child feels safe
and unafraid, so that the young
patient will have a good experi
ence.

for parents especially,” Lennarz
