In Loving Memory
Rev. Felton Howard
Funeral services were held Saturday
at Maranatha Church o f God for Rev.
Felton Howard, who died on J une 21,208
at age 75.
Rev. Howard was bom on Feb. 10,
1933, in Napoleonville, Louisiana. He
moved to Portland in 1957 and was a
laborer for Portland Traction for 34 years.
He also worked for Tri-Met.
In 1951, he married Thelma L. Pack;
she died in 2007.
Survivors include his sons Felton Jr., Ronald, Charles and Milton;
daughters Elaine Lambert, Arrianna Moody and Veronica Howard,
brother Frank; sisters Eva Melancon and Edna Morgan; 16 grandchil­
dren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. His son
Michael died April 26,2008.
Remembrances may be made to the building fund at Antioch Missionary
Baptist Church. Arrangements were by Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial.

of Cultural Liaison S ervices to be contracted on an as-needed
basis. From this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) firm s may be
selected to receive a three-year contract, with annual contract
reviews.

Fireworks Safety Urged
The state fire marshal and others
are encouraging people to keep it
legal and keep it safe when using
fireworks in celebration of the 4th
o f July.
Oregon law bans possession,
use or sale of fireworks that fly,
explode or travel more than six feet
on the ground or 12 inches into the
air.
Steps to safer use of fireworks
include keeping water available by
using a garden hose or bucket and
keeping children and pets away
from fireworks.
A fter lighting fireworks, never
relight a dud and after 15 to 20
m inutes soak all used fireworks
in a bucket o f w ater before d is­
posal.
Proposals must be submitted In a sealed envelope to the above address
no later than 3:00 PM, Thursday - July 22,2008.
Faxed or e-m ail response copies will not be accepted.
