Paichey saw several Ukrainian friends and
relatives working to lay concrete and drill holes
while Vasquez told the tour group about the
various ways his greatest satisfaction comes
from knowing such basic tasks are performed in

city,” Vasquez said. “That’s why inspecting
has to be very precise and time-consuming, not
just a 10-minute thing.”

Viktor Paichey, who left home in the Ukraine
less than five years ago, has experienced a

the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organi­
zation, he found this opportunity for getting
this skilled training from the city right out of
high school.
“They really motivated us," he says. "I didn’t

April 22 as part of recruiting this summer’s
participants.
