• 1 1/4 cups white sugar
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 teaspoons ground cinnam on
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 cup vegetable oil
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1 cup chopped w alnuts
• 5 1/2 cups chopped apples

DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F ( 165

sugar, flour, cinnam on, and baking
soda. Add the eggs, oil and vanilla, mix
well. A dd the nuts and apple, mix until
all o f the apples are evenly coated. Pour
into a 9x9 inch pan.
3. Bake for 45 to 50 m inutes in the
preheated oven. Serve warm or cool.

melted
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• 1 tablespoon orange juice
• 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
• 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
• O il for frying
• Confectioners' sugar
• 1 cup cake flour
• 3/4 teaspoon baking pow der
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 egg
• l/3 c u p m ilk
• 3/4 cu p ch o p p ed , p eeled tart

DIRECTIONS
1. In a bow l, com bine the flour, baking pow der and salt. In another bow l,
beat egg and milk.
2 . Add the apple, butter, sugar, orange ju ice, peel and vanilla; mix well.
3. Stir into dry ingredients ju st until m oistened. In an electric skillet or
deep-fat fryer, heat 1/4 in. o f oil to 375 degrees F.
4. D rop batter by rounded tablespoons into oil.
5 . Fry until golden brow n on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
6. D ust with confectioners' sugar. Serve warm.
