In what has become a trademark of the
Alberta Street Fair, clowns on bikes pedal up and
down the northeast Portland thoroughfare past
shoppers, diners and curious onlookers.
The Alberta Street Fair celebrates its I Oth
anniversary Saturday, Sept. 15 from 11 a.m. to
6 p.m.
Alberta Street has its own eclectic energy that
is sure to provide surprises and wonderful expe
riences for all.
The annual fair takes place all along the
thoroughfare from Northeast 12th to 31s, Av
enues with a cacophony of multicultural dance,
music, art, poetry, puppetry, food, kid's activi
ties, community services and jus, plain fun. A
parade led by the Lions of Batucada will be held
at I p.m.
Multicultural entertainment will ,111 the air with
sights and sounds at different staging areas on
the street.
Merchants will be participating with special
sales, food and on-site entertainm ent and art.
C hildren's activities will take place at N orth
east 14th Place and up and down the street.
Art on Alberta, the nonprofit arts organiza
tion, is the sponsor of the Alberta Street Fair.
Art cars and a host of community organiza
tions will march in a parade at the street fair.
Music, art activities and performances galore
will delight fair goers along the street.
The Alberta Street Fair has grown larger and
better each year.
