‘Show Me the Body’
T ere M athern D ance presents
“Show Me the Body,” a new dance
work featuring a live original score
by collaborator, com poserand m usi­
cian Tim DuRoche.
Perform ed by some o f the re­
gions most versatile dancers, the
work pulls from a literal interpreta­
tion o f the Latin phrase “habeas
corpus,” m eaning, “We com m and
that you have the body.”
"Show Me The Body” tackles the
evidence o f our existence and place
in the world, our personal territory
and source o f memory, and the m ean­
ing o f presence.
Shows are at 8 p.m. each night
Thursday, June 28 through Satur­
day, June 30 at Conduit Dance, 918
S.W. Yamhill, Suite. 401. Tickets
are $16 general adm ission and $13
for students, seniors and artists.For

outdoors Friday
at the Waterfront
Blues Festival.

The Northwest Film Center Presents Reel Blues - two
special outdoor screenings taking place Thursday, July 5 and
Friday, July 6 during the Waterfront Blues Festival.
On Thursday Reel Blues presents “Johnny Otis Reunion,”
a 1970 film about bandleader Johnny Otis and old friends, who
gather for a one-night-only salute to the glory days o f the
Central Avenue R&B scene in Los Angeles during the 1940s
and ‘50s (60 minutes).
On Friday attend a screening o f “Hendrix and the Blues,”
a 2003 fi 1 m featuring timeless J i mi Hendri x live performances
and other blues classics (25 minutes). Following will be “The
Losers’ Club.” a 2004 film featuring Portland guitarists and
bandleaders J im Mesi and Steve Bradley, both legends in the
1970’s Portland music scene. (50 minutes).
Show times are 10 p.m. for both nights and are free with
festival admission.
JULY 23rd at 7 p.m.
