Centennial Mills Redevelopment

The Portland Developm ent Commission (PDC) is pleased to
announce a singular redevelopment opportunity cf the 4.75 acre
Centennial Mills site located along the Willamette River waterfront
in downtown Portland, Oregon.
This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) invites proposals from
development teams that demonstrate successful qualifications
and offer a general development approach that embraces five key
redevelopment principles: provide open space, capture history,
define a community focal point, strengthen connections, and
embrace sustainability. The property is within the River District
Urban Renewal Area, and is located adjacent to the Pearl District,
Portland’s most active urban neighborhood. Centennial Mills is a
landmark waterfront site with approximately 670 linear foot
frontages on NW Naito Parkway and the Willamette River.
PDC seeks to redevelop this parcel to maximize the five key
redevelopment principles outlined in the 2006 Centennial Mills
Framework Plan, as approved by City Council and the PDC Board
of Commissioners. Development is also expected to be distinctive
in design and supportive of adjacent PDC-related projects—
including the new Fields Neighborhood Park planned to the west
and new affordable family housing project anticipated to the south.
There will be an optional pre-submittal informational meeting at
the Portland Development Commission, 222 NW 5th Avenue on
April 16, 2007 at 10 a.m.
