Comedian Franken to Run for Senate
(AP) - Comedian and radio talk
show host Al Franken has de
cided to run for U.S. Senate in
Minnesota, a senior Democratic
official from Minnesota said.
Franken told the official, who
did not want to be identified be
cause Franken has not made an
announcement, that he had de
cided to run in a recent conver
sation.
The news was not unexpected.
Franken has been calling mem
bers of the Minnesota congres-
