launches its ninth season with M omix,
the internationally renowned dance com ­
pany that pushes m ovem ent beyond the
lim its o f the human body, on W ednes­
day. Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Arlene
S chnitzerC oncert Hall.
Led by the brilliantly innovative
M oses Pendleton. M omix is a com pany
o f dancer-illusionists who com bine ac­
robatics, theater, dance and mim e with
unparalleled physical ability to create
stunning fantasies that stretch the i[pagi­
nation.
The dancers will perform their breath­
taking "()pus Cactus," a lull-evening work
inspired by the llora, fauna and simple
magic o f the American Southwest.
Tickets are $19-$43, available at the
Portland Center for Performing Arts Box
O ffice and all Ticketm aster outlets.
The Jefferson Alumni Association kicks o ff a Homecoming Tailgate
Party with outdoor grills, food and music on Friday, Oct. 20. The
group is looking for one car from each class to circle the Jefferson
campus. The Alumni Cruise begins at 2 p.m., Homecoming Assem­
bly at 2:30 p.m., a parade at 3 :30 p.m., and the kick-off against
Madison at 7 p.m. with the SEI Drum Line performing at half time.
