Born and raised on the rug­ ged streets of Los Angeles, Stefon says his mother was a subtle but major influence in his life, as she exposed him to a wide range of music at an early age. He says she was always there for him and in tribute to her there is a song on the album entitled “M am a's Boy.” Stefon was first introduced to hip hop at the age of eight when his babysitter was playing a record by The Sugar Hill gang. He remembers thinking, “wow," that's different.
