Welcomes Year o f the Dog
Portland's Classical Chinese
Garden in Old Town begins its
annual celebration of the Chinese
Lunar New Year by welcoming
the Year of the Dog with special
events beginning Sunday, Jan.
29 and continuing until Sunday.
Feb. 12
The Garden of Awakening Or­
chards is a peaceful and tranquil
treasure at Northwest Third and
E verett S treets. The garden
changes from season to season
with different blooms and es­
sences throughout the year. It is
the sort of place to be revisited
over and over to discover a differ­
ent perspective every time.
Built by Chinese artisans, the
garden reflects back from the wa­
ters that surround d iffe ren t
