Travel Tips
T ravelers heading over the
m o u n ta in s an d th ro u g h the
w oods for the holidays should
make sure th ey ’re prepared for
w inter road conditions.

to use extrem e caution as they
take to the highw ays and to keep
in mind som e basic safety tips.
People should get plenty o f rest
prior to taking a trip. Also, allow
extra tim e to reach destination,
carry em ergency supplies like
jum per cables, flares, flashlight,
blanket and food.
If traveling through m ountain
passes, you should carry tire
chains and know how to put them
on. You can minimize driving dis­
tractions by putting pets in ken­
nels and having gam es or books
handy in order to keep kids enter­
tained on the road. Also pull over
to use cell phones, properly se­
cure all vehicle occupants in their
seats or safety seats, be patient,
and do not drink and drive.

Holiday Memorial Service Scheduled
Community event

Families and friends are invited to attend a
holiday service in memory of loved ones who
have died over the past two years.
The community service will be held Satur­
day, Dec. 3 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ross
Hollywood Chapel sponsored by Ross Holly-
wood Chapel and Killingsworth St. Johns
Lombard Little Chapel o f The Chimes.
Prior to the service, guests are invited to attend
a reception featuring a Memorial Christmas Tree
in the foyer where they can display their keepsake
ornaments honoring their loved ones.
In addition to the reception and Christmas
carolers, all families in attendance will receive a
complimentary 5x7 family portrait sitting cour­
tesy o f Photography by Reba and Ross Holly­
wood Chapel and Little Chapel of The Chimes.
The memorial service will feature keynote
speaker Pastor Steven Holt of the International
Fellowship Family Church, along with vocalist
Calvin Allmon of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, the
Highland Temple Choir, and a special video
presentation celebrating the lives of family
members who have recently died.
