Metro is soliciting bids for construction of the Cascade Canyon
Exhibit at the Oregon Zoo. Sealed bids must be delivered to the
Oregon Zoo, 4001 S.W. Canyon Road, Portland, Oregon 97221-
2799, to the attention ofLee Campbell, Project Manager, no later
than 2 :0 0 n.m . P D T Th u rsd ay, O cto be r 20. 2 0 0 5 (postmarks
not accepted), and will be publicly opened and read in the Zoo
Resource Room. First Tier Subcontractor forms are due from all
bidders within two hours of the bid due time or the bid will be
considered non-responsive.
A Pre-bid conference for prospective Bidders will be conducted in
the Zoo Resource Room at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September
28, 2005. A tten d a n ce at th is m e e ting is m a n d a to ry fo r all
p otential prim e bidders. Sub-contractors are encouraged to
attend. A site visit is planned following the meeting.
The work contemplated consists of construction of three new
animal exhibits at The Oregon Zoo (Black Bear, Cougar and Bobcat),
including a pedestrian suspension bridge to a trail through the
woods, three public viewing structures and three off-exhibit holding
fa c ilitie s (C o n ta in m e n t fe ncin g, hotw ire, con cre te & wood
