Dear Deanna!
During an appointment 1 asked a
strange lady to hold my newborn
baby whi le 1 fil led out some forms at
a counter. The next thing I know, 1
turned around and this woman who
a lso had a sm all b a b y , w as
breastfeeding my child. 1 went crazy
and jerked my baby from her and
then started hitting the lady. The
police came and now 1 have to go to
court. 1 accept the punishment but
was 1 wrong for hitting the woman?
Ask o
to be upset because you don’t
know if that lady’s breast milk had
drugs, alcohol, medication or any
thing else in it. You have a good
case as long as you remain calm, tell
the truth and pray that the correct
justice is served. However, in the
future, you need to be more respon
sible and not give your baby to a
stranger.

Algeria Home to
35 Million People
by
R on W eber
In a close race for the largest
country of Africa, Algeria is only a
few square miles sm aller than
Sudan. Three times the size of Texas,
the population rose by five million
people between 1990 and 2000,
Over the past three decades the
country’s population has doubled,
with the average Algerian woman
bearing 9 to 10 children.
Today at nearly 35 million people,
Algeria is faced with many o f the
same problems of other African
nations. Poverty and sickness top
the list. Asdoesout-of-control birth
rates, the cruelty of AIDS and other
diseases. Many people die in birth
from food or waterborne diseases,
bacterial diarrhea, hepatitis A and

typhoid fever.
Like many African nations, pov
erty, illness and a low gross na
tional product forces Algeria to
borrow money, leaving her so cash
strapped that it is unable to im
prove the quality of life in areas
such as health care reform and edu
cation.
Fortunately, the United Nations
passed legislation recently that
excused more Third World debt
than ever before. Algeria and sev
eral African and South American
nations were forgiven monies owed
to the world’s richest nations. The
U.N. wants these poorer nations to
be able to focus on better school
ing and health care for their popu
lations.
Algeria, along with many other
African nations, sought its free
dom from European domination
during the mid-to late 20th Century.
After much fighting in the 1950s
and early 1960s, Algeria achieved
independence from France in 1962.
Since that time, the French National
Liberation Front has domi nated the
political scene. The Islamic Salva
tion Front has had some success in
the early 1990s, but disbanded in
2000.

the country is made up of high
plateaus and desert sands. Many
areas are subject to severe earth
quakes, mudslides and floods. The
soil erosion, along with oil spills
contaminates the Mediterranean
Sea. Algeria’s natural resources in
clude petroleum, natural gas, iron
ore, phosphates, lead, and zinc.
Algerians grow wheat, barley, oats,
grapes, olives, citrus, fruits, and
raise cattle.
Almost all Algerians are Arab-
Berber (99 percent), with only one
percent being European. R eli
giously, 99 percent of the country
is Muslim. The other one percent is
split between Jewish and Christian.
One out of every four people in
Algeria lives below the poverty line.

Political and military leaders dis
agree on whether opening up their
doors to European and American
citizens is a security risk. Most
Algerians feel it would be a great
idea and small tourist businesses
would flourish, thus increasing the
tax base the government works
from.
Many tourist agencies is the past
have warned Americans that visit
ing Algeria was a “suicide trip,”
due to all the tribal and inner-tribal
wars in this country. However, now
that many European and American
nations have forgiven A frican
debts, economists feel it will not be
long before business trade and tour
ism will begin to grow.
O ver the past few years, a new

been built ju st outside o f the city

been more like a secured com
pound than a four-star hotel, but
that is beginning to change. T our
ists the w orld over are beginning
to look at A frica as a vacation hot
spot, especially along the M edi
terranean, as the northern part of
the continent is only a short d is
tance from the tourist havens in
Europe.

I’m 21 years old and single with a
personal problem. 1 have a foot and
toe fetish. W hen I talk to women
and this is revealed, I get pushed
away. I can't lie about this because
women with pretty feet really turn
me on. I would like to pamper a
woman by polishing her toenails
and blowing them dry. What should
1 do about my love life and fetish?
—Chris D.; Los Angeles, CA
Dear Chris:
Y our fetish is innocent but we
live in a society that w ould judge
and cast you as a pervert. The
most im portant thing w ith your
toe fetish is the delivery. Exercise
self control and only reveal your
love o f toes to a woman y o u ’re in
a relationship with. If you c a n 't
stay in control, it’s okay to ac
know ledge pretty feet, but make
it quick and keep it m oving. O th
erw ise, y o u ’ll never get far be
cause y o u ’ll be perceived as sick.
Dear Deanna!
I’m in acommitted relationship with
no children or financial concerns.
However, I do want children. Do
you think I should adopt or end the
relationship because the lady I’m
with doesn’t plan on having kids?
issue. T here’s adifference between
a woman not wanting to physically
birth children versus not wanting
any at all. Have a discussion with
your mate and see if she’s willing to
adopt. If so, you’re fine. If not,
decide if you want to be with this
woman or find one that' 11 fulfill your
dream to hear the pitter patter of
little feet.
