“Take Our Daughters And
Sons To Work Day helps to
humanize the workplace by
challenging participants to
examine their lives from a
three-dimensional perspec
tive,” says Sara K. Gould,
president and CEO of Ms.
Foundation for Women.
“We encourage girls and
boys to dream without gen
der limitations and to think
imaginatively about their
family, work and commu
nity lives. We want to help
girls and boys understand
equally that there is no
shame in both women and
men taking time off to help
raise a child, coaching the
local little league team or
working late at the office.”

Here’s a new one: Instead
of taking your child to daycare
or school for the day, how
about bringing them to work?
There’s no doubt they’re cu
rious about what you do all
day, and showing them your
environment can help them
realize their dreams of what
they might want to be when
they get older.
The Ms. Foundation for
Women announced recently
that it is helping girls and
boys across the nation dis
cover the power and possi
bilities associated with a bal
anced work and family life.

Breast-
Feeding Rights
(AP) - A city commission can
didate in Miami was recently
criticized for breast-feeding her
daughter during a public meet
ing, so 16 other mothers turned
up and nursed their children at
another gathering as a show of
support.
Gabrielle Redfern apologized
for offending anyone, but says
she won’t stop breast-feeding her
child when necessary.
Florida law says a woman can
breast-feed her child anywhere
she is otherwise legally allowed
to be. But even in a city where
topless sunbathing is common,
others say there should be limits.
