Anthony Anderson stars in the hilarious com­
edy “King’s Ransom,” scheduled for release on
Friday, April 22. Along for the non-stop action
comedy are “ Bernie Mac” star Kellita Smith,
“Scrubs” star Donald Faison, “Second Time
Around” star Nicole Ari Parker, Regina Hall, “Dave
Chappelle” comedian Charlie Murphy, “Waiting to
Exhale” actress Loretta Devine and “Jerry Maguire"
actor Jay Mohr.
In “King’s Ransom,” Anderson stars as Malcolm
King, a wealthy and arrogant businessman whose
ex-wife-to-be Renee (Smith) has plans to take him
for everything he is worth in their divorce settle­
ment. Determined to avoid losing his fortune to her,
Malcolm plans his own kidnapping with the help of
Peaches (Hall) his dim-witted mistress and her ex-
con brother Herb (Murphy).

Oscar winner Sydney Pollack directs the film to be
released Friday, April 22.
The screenwriters created the political struggle based
on modem history involving post-colonial struggles,
warring tribal factions and institutionalized corruption.
“We didn't want to use an existing country because
it would run the risk of becoming too much like a
documentary instead of a fictional thriller. But we were
careful to be as authentic as possible in creating a reality-
based history." Pollack said.
